Sally

Me… thriving!

Me… thriving!

SALLY

I met a girl, let’s call her Sally.

We were in music class with our kids.

She was amazingingly perfect and annoyingly perfect.

Beautiful.

Make-up to the T. Eyelashes perfect, skin flawless.

Annoying… but only for a few seconds. She was lovely, I liked her.

We danced with our kids, I really liked her…

Time went by, I liked her even better. She asked me my story, I told her. I asked her story, she told me.

Come to find out, we had many people in common.

Sally and I began to grow closer, but over time. We knew of schools that we liked, somewhat in common but not always the same. After knowing me a bit longer she asked me to trust myself more.

I was not always getting credit for what I deserved or furthermore my cirumstances at hand, which were extremely difficult to say the least. I was getting weak, Sally was strong. I may have been unsure of where I was going, Sally was sure of where I was going…. Sally was strong. I was unsure of where she got her strength from but more importantly, she was inspiring me.

I was supposed to be influencing people on the internet but Sally was inspiring me. Tread lightly but yet tread heavily was the message, if I wanted to make a difference, and I did.

Sally stayed steadfast in her relationship with me and her support for me was unwavered. I had already had a strong relationship with God but that relationship flourished and grew in a way that I had never known possible. Sally stayed with me and ensured that it was my relationship that was working with him nothing else. But Sally never wavered.

I think we all have a Sally. Someone who is willing to give us focus, advocate for us, strive, fight, champion, crusade, essentially stand behind. Sally is the light behind the darkness - To be very honest, I have a few Sally’s. But not quite as strong as this ‘Sally.’ This Sally is one-of-a-kind special. She knows who she is and I am forever grateful.

In these ever challenging times, if you are able, pause to inhale a deep tiger breath and commit to being someone’s Sally. My life will never be the same because Sally chose to befriend me.

All the work that I do goes directly to the Man upstairs and “Sally, I love you.”

Do you think you have the capability to be Sally in someone’s life?
