Open Hearted

Meeting with friends is like ‘soup for the soul.’ Sometimes just a good listening ear is all we need to be … Fill up your cup with more one-on-one time.

In life, how do we stay open hearted? Why is it sometimes so hard for us to remain open hearted when we have been burned? As we get older, more and more of us have experienced some type of loss, a tragedy, a disappointment. Sometimes these letdown’s come to fruition when we least expect it. Do we then allow it to overtake our entire persona? Or, do we choose to work really hard to get back to where we were, our true homeostasis.

What did we learn from our letdown’s? How do we move forward knowing that our perspective may be a bit, shall we say, jaded.

Does it ever seem like some people get burned and others never get burned in life? Wait… but we are all living on the planet earth right?

You applied for the job but didn’t get selected. Your relationship didn’t work out. You lose your one solid rock, your most favorite individual on the planet.

I think it is safe to assume that we all have those days - The imagery where you are trudging uphill yet never seeming to get anywhere but moving toward the next infamous battle? This is the time when I get the most fulfillment by doing less talking, more listening and encouraging those around me. It is important for us ourselves to stay the course even when we simply cannot see the light at the end the tunnel. This is truly part of our big joy in life - Not knowing, the time to delve deep, searching out our faith and our purpose. Gathering the Big Picture.

In life, surely we get burned … We all do.

Someone just wrote to me the other day, telling me about how it is more important than ever after getting burned to continue on with a generous, open heart. Giving of our time, advice, listening ear, our money.

Somehow, we must put others first in order to see a clear picture of what lies up ahead.

Our storms will all be distinct, appearing at different times as well as in different capacities.

There is no doubt, we all have our struggles and overcoming them is not an option.

Remaining open hearted and being a friend somehow serves as a magic eraser and inspires ourselves more than we ever imagined possible.

It is like the florescence that a fresh rain brings to new growth and blooms.

I have found, that these are some of my most restorative moments - when I am listening and sharing with a close friend about what I love doing most!

Sharing ideas on best finds - Touching on personal favorite’s : beauty, fashion, decor, anything “budget friendly.”

It is those fun, light hearted, almost silly things in life!

For a moment, the world slips away and we can just be there for one another without really having to do much at all.

These are the sharing moments that seem to go so far.

I have just a few save-worthy discussion finds below:

In the meantime, remain open hearted friends …

XO,

Lora
