Skin + beauty fav’s

When I think about my beauty routine, I think about two things: simplicity + effectiveness. Now that I am 44 I try to disobey time by being religious with my morning and nightly regime.

In college, my very first job was working at a makeup counter in a department store. I looked forward to going to work! I wore a black smock like we did at the makeup counters back in the ‘90’s 😁and that was honestly the most fun part of my day. I learned so much about beauty, skin, color - all of that fun stuff and to this day, I will admit it’s kinda my jam.

That being said, I am not the type of girl who wants a lot of products but I want essential products that I see results with.

So, needless to say, my beauty must have’s are just that… must have’s!

Since becoming a mom two year’s ago and then a single mom on top of it, I have tried to simplify my morning and nightly routines.

Just because I simplified my routines does not mean they’re any less important!

As a matter of fact, I would say that my routines have become more influential because I made it imperative they get done.

Come take a look in my bag and see what I’m currently using!

I like to start fresh faced in the morning, with my beloved Treatment Enzyme Peel. I’ve used this for years and it’s my trusty go-to for an all-in-one gentle cleanser, exfoliator as well as makeup remover.

It’s a dry powder, when mixed with water emulsifies into a fine foam, removing everything on my face without stripping. I love how gentle it is - so gentle that I use it daily even though its called an, exfoliator.

I follow with this hydrating skin supplement. Then, my Tinted Moisturizer (it already has SPF 20). It’s BB cream and feels light and easy to wear.

I love a pop of color around my eyes without all the daily eyeliner and shadow, which for me can become time consuming, so I chose a (budget-friendly) colored mascara; its only $10! 😍 and here’s another great mascara!

A light brushing of Kevyn Aucoin’s bronzer in sunrise light for my fair skin and btw, I love all of Kevyn Aucoin brushes!

I mainly use mine for foundation and concealer.

For color, I really gravitate to my tried and true MAC soft blush! I follow suit with a neutral lip and finalize with one of MAC’s nude lips and gloss.

At night, I will either use my beloved treatment enzyme peel or in the winter I love this botanical Enzyme Oil especially if I’m feeling dry. It emulsifies into a creamy lather removing everything without stripping. My face feels dewy and not dry afterward.

I cap off with one or two of my favorite’s, either Erno Laszlo’s Phelytl Night Cream OR my all-time favorite, Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Sleeping Recovery Masque. This is a true find and super budget friendly compared to a lot of other night cream’s on the market right now. and my fav eye and lip is far & away, Valmont. Which is a splurge but totally worth it and lasts me well over a year.

Last but not least, I brush through my hair with my Wet Brush. My best friend in college had the most gorgeous, lustrous locks. She claimed that brushing her hair 100 times before bedtime was what made her hair so beautiful. Now, although I’m not brushing 100 x I do swear by this budget friendly brush morning, night as well as out of the shower after towel drying.

All in all, my morning and nightly routine’s take no more than 10 minutes each. I honestly think because they are streamlined so much, that’s the reason they get done!

So, come on…. Do it for yourself + your skin!
